Physical Therapy

At Melissa Barrett Physical Therapy and Yoga, we believe in personalized, one-on-one treatments based on your unique body and individual goals. We only offer one-on-one, 45 minutes, hands-on treatment with a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. We do not utilize the assistance of aides or assistants. We will create custom exercise programs and neuromuscular re-education for optimal recovery and prevent re-injury.

Whether you’re looking to recover from an injury, improve your athletic performance, or just make sure your mechanics are performing at the optimal level, we’re here to help you along your path to a lifetime of wellness. With a strong belief in patient satisfaction, we want to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

In New York, you do not need a physician’s referral for a Physical Therapy visit or evaluation.  Direct access to Physical Therapy means less time off work or recreational activities, quicker recovery, less pain, and often, less money out-of-pocket.

Melissa Barrett Physical Therapy is a fee at the time of service clinic. Melissa Barrett Physical Therapy provides one-on-one, hands-on, specialized physical therapy for at least 45 minutes per session without the use of aides or physical therapy assistants

In our experience, this is what provides the best results for our clients.  In order to provide this amount of time, one-on-one with a physical therapist, it is necessary that we operate as an out-of-network provider.

This means that your reimbursement for our services is dependent on your policies’ out-of-network coverage for outpatient physical therapy. For example, if your out-of-network coverage is 80:20, after meeting your out-of-network deductible, you may be reimbursed 80% of our fees that your insurance carrier deems reasonable and customary.

As a courtesy, all necessary diagnosis and treatment billing codes will be provided on our receipts. Often, because of the benefits of getting into a therapist quickly and the convenience of scheduling, our clients actually save money and time in the long run compared with the traditional path of a physician to referral to Physical Therapy.
